Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes)

Cover from:

Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes) is a Spanish film about a young wealthy man and his struggles with reality. The movie Vanilla Sky was based off of this film, and I prefer Abres Los Ojos to Vanilla Sky greatly. Throughout this film you will be second guessing yourself as you attempt to find out what is really happening, trying to understand who is who, and what really is and what is not.

This film is definitely worth seeing and will keep you thinking and guessing all of the way through. It's mindbending, full of great acting by Eduardo Noriega and Penelope Cruz (who plays the same role in Vanilla Sky).

Even though I had seen Vanilla Sky prior to this, I still find myself very happy that I watched it. The plots are seemingly identical, although I find the acting and cinematography much more pleasing in Abre Los Ojos. If you decide to watch this I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Cover from:

A comedy staring Steve Martin and Michael Caine. As you would expect from the combination of actors it's a very funny and clever film. Both characters are con men of a different caliber, and when Michael Caine takes Steve Martin under his wing they begin to fight for territory to con. To settle their dispute they decide to hold a contest where they compete to see who is the better con.

It's a great classic comedy with both actors doing close to their best. Definitely worth seeing, and it has a great ending to boot. Hope you'll find time to watch it.

A Couple Old Snowboarding Pictures

Me setting up the shot.

Me taking the shot while a couple guys I snowboarded with hit the maintenance shed which we turned into a nice kicker. It landed on a frozen pond which was pretty interesting. Hope you enjoy!

Cover from:

Kontroll is a film about a ticket inspector named Bulscu, his crew, rival inspectors, and the Budapest Metro System. In this film you will never see the light of day but will remain underground following Bulscu around. You will learn about his life that once was, and his life that he has now.

This is an incredible film and one I highly recommend watching. The characters in it are extremely well developed. There are also many points in the film where you find yourself wondering if something is really happening, or whether or not it's someone's imagination at work.

The film is dark, funny, captivating, and thought provoking.
