Lost Highway by David Lynch

Lost Highway, directed by David Lynch is a film that follows a jazz musician who is effected by strange events. Like most of David Lynch's films there is a constant feeling of the supernatural. It's one of my favorite films and has the best lighting of any film I know.

This film also has one of the best movie soundtracks that I've heard. Full of great acting and always keeping you on the edge of your seat, the way David Lynch can portray the mysteriousness of darkness and make the most of silence is second to none. A film definitely worth watching!

You might recognize some of David Lynch's other films: Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, Mullholland Dr. etc.

This is one of the most beautiful films that I have seen in a while. I've been in an anime funk recently watching a lot of Miyazaki's film and finally decided to check out some of Makoto Shinkai's. He's an amazing director and artist, image of this film can be described as appropriate for a wallpaper.

As with most of his other films this movie is broken up into three sections. Also like his other stories it follows adolescent love and the troubles that the characters living conditions present.

I recommend this film full heartedly. It's the most beautiful anime I've seen in a long while. I felt very emotional while watching the film and I imagine you will feel similar.

The Game (1997)

The Game is a mindfuck film staring Michael Douglas. It's a movie with a strong plot that keeps you guessing the whole way with various twists (read in M. Night Shyamalan's voice). Sean Penn is also a great actor in the film playing Michael Douglas's brother, Michael being successful and Sean being a former drug addict. Definitely worth seeing!
